New Life Campaign
Green Meadows Pool has been a jewel in our community for over 50 years.
It’s a gathering place for friends and neighbors. It provides recreation and employment. It’s the place our kids learn to swim.
The pool has far exceeded its life expectancy thanks to exceptional care by volunteers. But natural deterioration has caused visible cracks and bowing walls, and the filtration and chemical systems are far outdated.
The New Life Capital Campaign aims to raise $500,000 to renovate Green Meadows Pool, ensuring that it will remain open for future generations to love and enjoy.
"We want to keep a good thing going! These renovations will hopefully help the pool last another 50 years."
Jill Knotek, Pool Board President
Funding Priorities & Timeline
The New Life Campaign will fund a total reconstruction resulting in:
- New pool and deck
- Updated plumbing, chemical and filtration systems
- Expanded lounge area
- Baby and toddler splash pad
We will break ground in fall of 2025, and the new pool will be open for the 2026 pool season.
Project Cost and Funding Plan
The estimated cost of the renovation is $500,000.
The six-year plan below illustrates how we plan to pay for the new pool. We hope to raise enough to cover over half the cost of the renovation in 2024-25. The remaining cost will be covered by a bank loan which will be repaid using membership dues.

“We’ve been members since 1978! My kids were at the pool all day, every day. I would call the pool’s phone when it was time to come home for lunch and dinner. We have the best neighborhood in Council Bluffs, and this pool holds a special place in my heart.”
